Diego Torres graduated from the Universidad Católica de Chile in 2004. In 2003, he created the Equipo_Arquitectura practice together with Fernando García-Huidobro and Nicolás Tugas, with whom he conducted the research PREVI-Lima 30 años después. This work was published as Time Builds! in Gustavo Gili’s 2008 catalogue and exhibited in several venues such as the 2004 Iberoamerican Biennale in Lima and the 2010 Urban Art Biennale in Bordeaux.

A winner of the Elemental competition, he has been a part of the team since March 2004. As a member of Elemental’s permanent staff, he has been awarded the Silver Lion at the XI Venice Biennale, the Avonni Innovative Entrepreneurship Award in Chile and the Brit Insurance Architecture Award 2010. He has been Project Manager of several housing projects in Chile as well as projects in Mexico and the USA.

Diego Torres has also been studio co-professor at the Universidad Católica and combines his work at Elemental with his own private commissions.
