Roberto Lamberts is Professor of Civil Engineering in the Department of Civil Engineering, Federal University of Santa Catarina (Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina / UFSC), based in Florianópolis, Brazil.

He teaches classes and performs research in the area of heat and moisture transfer, building simulation, bioclimatology, thermal comfort and energy efficiency in buildings. He has worked with a wide range of research sponsors in Brazil, including Eletrobras, Petrobras, FINEP, CNPq and CAPES.

He holds a Bachelor (1980) and Master (1983) of Civil Engineering from Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul, and a PhD in Civil Engineering (1988) from the University of Leeds, United Kingdom.

Roberto Lamberts is past president of Brazilian Association for Technology in the Built Environment and Brazilian Building Performance Simulation Association, and a board member of the Brazilian Council for Sustainable Construction and International Building Performance Association.

He has published more than 70 articles in academic journals and two books. He has also supervised 49 MSc dissertations, 25 doctoral theses in the areas of Civil Engineering, Production Engineering and Architecture. He is on the editorial board of Ambiente Construido, E-mat, and the Habitare book series, as well as Advances in Building Energy Research and the Elsevier journal Energy and Buildings.

He was winner the Holcim Awards Bronze 2005 in Latin America for Solar water heating and rainwater tower, Florianopolis, Brazil.

Roberto Lamberts was a member of the Holcim Awards jury for Latin America in 2005.
