Certificate hand-over for "Lighthouse tower with low-carbon footprint, Dubai"
Project author Shaun Killa (image center) is presented with the Global Holcim Awards 2009 finalist certificate by Amer Moustafa (left), jury member for Africa Middle East and Patrice Chantan (right), representative of Holcim Ltd in the United Arab Emirates.
The certificate handover for the “Lighthouse tower with low-carbon footprint” took place at the Cityscape Dubai conference on October 7, 2009.
Construction of the 53-story building which will reduce energy consumption by 50% compared to conventional office towers has already started. The project is planned to be finalized within the next three years.
"It's an enormous pleasure to receive this certificate and it means a great deal to me as it gives me strength to continue the difficult challenges of creating sustainable buildings that make a real difference within the commercially orientated arena," Shaun Killa comments.
