Ludwig Schuster is a freelance project manager and consultant for sustainability and a scientific researcher for the Money Network Alliance (MonNetA).
He studied architecture and urban planning at the Bauhaus University in Weimar, Germany and is now living in Berlin.
As a founding member and co-director of the regional development agency REGIOprojekt he was occupied with the phenomenon of “shrinking cities” and organized the first international conference on “monetary regionalization”.
He currently works as a consultant and researcher with a focus on monetary tools for sustainable development. His scientific research as a “currency architect” concentrates on the variety of complementary currency designs, ranging from currency applications for renewable energies and participatory budgeting to incentive schemes for sustainable consumption and the prevention of climate change.
Promoting his new approach of monetary pluralism for sustainability, Ludwig Schuster is collaborating intensely with the MonNetA Foundation Steyerberg, the German Regiogeld Association and a number of complementary currency initiatives in Germany and across Europe.
