Rozana Montiel currently teaches at the School of Architecture, Universidad Iberoamericana (UIA). She is also the Founder and Director of Periférica, an architectural practice committed to design and urban research.
She obtained a degree in architecture at the UIA and a master degree in architecture at the Politécnico de Catalunya in Barcelona.
In 2009 she received a grant from the Conaculta National Artists program and in 2007 she was, with Arturo Ortiz Struck, recipient of a Holcim Foundation PhD Research Grant in 2007 for Sustainability in poor areas: Chimalhuacan informal squatter settlements in the context of the local and global discourses.
