Carolyn Aguilar Dubose is Dean of the Department of Architecture at the Universidad Iberoamericana (UIA) in Mexico City, Mexico.
She is currently coordinating the sixth edition of the Diploma Course on Sustainable Design and Construction and the second edition of the Diploma Course on Design of Sustainable Communities at the UIA. She developed the implementation of the university’s Green Campus Project and is currently conducting research on Green Materials in Mexico.
Carolyn Aguilar Dubose studied architecture in Mexico and urban design in the UK. She is Certified Chief Construction Officer and Certified Expert on Urban Development for the Mexico City Local Authority.
Since 2004, she has worked principally in continuing education on sustainability topics, LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) rating systems for buildings and neighborhoods, and biomimicry – the process of understanding and applying biological principles to architecture and design.
Carolyn Aguilar Dubose has been a member of the Mexico City Architectural Association for the past 25 years, directed its Architecture and Urbanism Institute for four years, and has recently been asked to form part of the Honors Committee. She is a member, through UIA, of the US Green Building Council (USGBC), the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE), and of the Urban Land Institute.
She was Head of the Holcim Awards jury for region Latin America in 2011.
