holcim foundation

Evolving from the 3rd International Holcim Forum for Sustainable Construction held at the Universidade Iberoamericana in April 2010, the Holcim Foundation is supporting an ongoing project to build an index of unconventional examples of construction techniques, material use, typologies, programs etc. invented today or centuries ago that expand our possibilities beyond the building-as-usual.

The list of terms will continue to grow in this continuing project. Each definition is further enhanced with references to projects associated with the Holcim Foundation. The definitions featured in this section of the Holcim Foundation website (Index of Re-inventing Construction) are derived from the whatwow platform, initiated by Ruby Press and curated by Something Fantastic.
