Tangible criteria for sustainable buildingNew book explains “target issues” of the Holcim Foundation for Sustainable Construction
Zurich, December 4, 2006 – The construction industry is one of the world’s largest consumers of energy and materials, and offers great potential for improving sustainability performance. A new book, Office building in Costa Rica: measuring up to the criteria of sustainable construction, explains the Holcim Foundation’s five “target issues” with reference to a new office building. The publication promotes sustainable responses to the technological, environmental, socio-economic and cultural issues related to building and construction.

Zurich, October 30, 2006 – More than 200 international experts will meet in China at the Holcim Forum for Sustainable Construction to be held from April 19 to 21, 2007. With urban growth predicted to surge in the 21st century, the symposium will advance concepts for the sustainable development of cities. The forum is being hosted by Tongji University in Shanghai.
