
Fernando Diez is Director of the Department of Urbanism, Faculty of Architecture at the Universidad de Palermo (UP). He is also the Executive Editor of Argentinean-based architecture and construction journal Summa+.
Born in Buenos Aires in 1953, Fernando Diez studied architecture at the Universidad de Belgrano, Argentina and Universidad Federal de Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.
He has been researching and teaching architecture since 1979. He is author of Buenos Aires y algunas constantes en las transformaciones urbanas and his book Crisis de Autenticidad on Argentine architecture is currently in print.
His critical and theoretical work has been widely published in Argentina and internationally. He is also contributor to the Opinion section of La Nación newspaper in Buenos Aires, where he writes on ecology, urban development and environmental issues.
Fernando Diez was professor of architecture at the Universidad de Belgrano and Universidad de Buenos Aires, and has been visiting professor at a number of universities internationally.
He has been Counselor for the Architectural and Urbanism Professional Council of Buenos Aires since 2001.
Fernando Diez was a member of the Holcim Awards jury for region Latin America in 2008.
