Luis Fernández-Galiano

Luis Fernández-Galiano is an architect, professor at the School of Architecture, Madrid, and editor of Architectura Viva, Spain's leading architecture magazine.

He also writes on architecture for Spain’s leading newspaper, El País. He is a member of the Royal Academy of Doctors, expert and juror of the Mies van der Rohe European Award, and has been on the jury of several national and international competitions.

Luis Fernández-Galiano is also author of architecture books including La Quimera Moderna and Fire and Memory: On Architecture and Energy, which traces the origins of architecture from ancient history through current times.

He has been the Cullinan Professor at Rice University, USA, a visiting scholar at the Getty Center of Los Angeles and a visiting critic at Princeton, Harvard and the Berlage Institute in the Netherlands.
