Olivia la O’ Castillo is former chair and president of the Asia-Pacific Roundtable on Sustainable Consumption and Production (APRSCP).
She is a member of the United Nations Secretary General Advisory Board (UNSGAB) on Water and Sanitation and Board Member of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) International Environmental Technology Center, Japan.
She is involved with a number of intergovernmental and business organizations to implement sustainable production initiatives and sustainable development approaches, particularly within the Asia Pacific region.
Olivia la O’ Castillo holds a PhD in Business Administration from the University of the Philippines (1997), and also studied administration and arts at the University of the Philippines (1975) and Maryknoll College (1967).
She is the former president of the Philippine Pollution Prevention Roundtable (P3R), and has been an environmental consultant to projects for the Joanneum Research Institute (Austria), Asian Development Bank (ADB), United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO).
Olivia la O’ Castillo is also a member of the UNEP Life Cycle Impact Assessment Working Group (LCIA), and a guest mentor of the Young Masters Program at the International Institute for Industrial Engineering Economics (IIIEE) at Lund University, Sweden.
Olivia la O’ Castillo was a member of the Holcim Awards jury for region Asia Pacific in 2008.
