Update
Holcim Awards competition for sustainable construction projects
Zurich/Switzerland, July 10, 2007 – A Step-by-step guide to entering the Holcim Awards
competition is now available in Spanish. Entries in the competition can
be submitted until February 29, 2008 at www.holcimawards.org in English.
The
Step-by-step guide provides additional support for Spanish-speaking
entrants, since the online entry form for the Holcim Awards may only be
completed in English.
The guide explains the requirements of
each section of the online form and provides an overview of the “target
issues” for sustainable construction. These so-called “target issues”
serve as a yardstick to measure the degree to which a building
contributes to sustainable development, and set the scope for the
evaluation of all entries by independent juries.
The Awards
are open to anyone involved with projects in the area of sustainable
construction – architects, planners, engineers, or project owners. The
prize money for the five regional competitions and the global awards
totals USD two million.
All building projects are eligible for
the competition if construction had not started before June 1, 2007.
The first phase of the competition will select regional winners in 2008
that will automatically qualify for the global competition to be held
in 2009.
The Step-by-step guide is available in
high-resolution and low-resolution formats in Serbian, Hungarian,
English, French, Spanish, Portuguese and Vietnamese at: http://www.holcimfoundation.org/T531/Step-by-stepguide.htm
