Tim Macfarlane is Vice President, and Design Partner of Dewhurst Macfarlane and Partners PC, consulting structural and façade engineers with main offices in London and New York. He is responsible for the international business of the practice, and works with leading architects on challenging structures where the structural engineering is essential to the aesthetic.
Macfarlane has headed the innovation of the use of glass in works ranging from artworks and glass stairs to the use of structural glass and large cable-hung glass walls in buildings.
Macfarlane has taught architectural students for 20 years. He has been appointed an Honorary Fellow at the Royal Institute of British Architects.
He is on the council of the Architectural Association in London, and is a Visiting Professor at Yale University.
In the USA, he is collaborating on arts, education, residential and public buildings.
