Next Generation Ambassadors to host workshop on vernacular architecture
Hybrid event on building preservation in Indonesia set for August 26

Held at Jakarta’s Bentara Budaya Cultural Centre and via Zoom, the hybrid event will bring together Indonesian and international heritage experts and architectural practitioners. Split into two sessions combining three keynotes and panel discussions, the event will explore a broad range of approaches to preservation, from building strategies and emerging digital technologies to broader analyses of architecture and cultural change.

- Prof. Ir. Totok Rusmanto, ISAI UIN, Head of Central Java Cultural Heritage Experts - on the values and philosophy of Joglo design
- Mohamad Cahyo Novianto, JAAI (Indonesian Architectural Archive Community) - on the materiality of Joglo structures
- Adi Purnomo, mamostudio - case studies in relocating Joglo homes
