Saverio A Banchini was CEO of Holcim (Spain) from 1996 until his retirement in 2008. He was a member of the Holcim Awards jury for region Europe in 2008.

Saverio A Banchini was CEO of Holcim (Spain) from 1996 until his retirement in 2008.

He joined the Holcim Group in 1978 as General Manager of Cementos Ipanema, Brazil, and was then appointed General Manager of Planeación de Ciminas, Brazil. In 1986 he moved to Cementos Boyacá – now Holcim (Colombia), the Colombian subsidiary of Holcim, as CEO.

Saverio A Banchini studied engineering at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH Zurich), specializing in civil and transport infrastructure. He began his career in 1970 as a research assistant in engineering at the ETH Zurich, before several positions in engineering consulting firms in Switzerland and Brazil.

He was a member of the Holcim Awards jury for region Europe in 2008.
