Fernando Diez is Editorial Director of Summa+ and Professor of Urbanism at the Universidad de Palermo (UP), Argentina and was a member of the Holcim Awards jury for region Latin America in 2008, 2014, 2017 & 2020.

Fernando Diez studied architecture at the Universidad de Belgrano, Argentina and Universidad Federal do Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.
He is author of several books including Buenos Aires y algunas constantes en las transformaciones urbanas (Editorial de Belgrano, 1996) and Crisis de Autenticidad: Cambios en los modos de producción de la arquitectura argentina (Summa+, 2008) and Unsettling Agenda: Environment and Society, The First Ten Years of the Twenty-First Century (Centerline, University of Texas Press, 2016).
His critical and theoretical work has been widely published in Argentina and internationally. He is also contributor to the Op-ed section of La Nación newspaper in Buenos Aires, where he writes on ecology, urban development and environmental issues.
Fernando Diez is Professor in Postrgraduate Programs at Universidad de DiTella, Universidad de Mar del Plata, Universidad de Buenos Aires, and Universidad de Mendoza, and has been visiting professor and lecturer at a large number of universities internationally.
He holds a chair at the Argentine Academy of Sciences of the Environment.
He moderated the workshop Green urbanism – Between ecology and economy at the 2nd International Holcim Forum 2007 in Shanghai.
