Creating a sustainable environment through sustainable constructions in a city would only become a dream if all the stakeholders do not wish to have it. This is generally what happened in the mind of most people and building owners in big cities of developing countries like Indonesia.
We believe that we cannot change this instantly by the creation of sustainable construction “icons”. We think that “icons” will only become a monument that no one will be able to follow. We also believe that the realization of sustainability in the smallest unit of construction – like self built houses – is the most effective way to create a successful sustainability movement.
Based on those premises, we believe that we – as architects – can contribute to the creation of sustainable constructions in the future. This is done by sharing our knowledge of sustainable design and the method of design thinking to the future stakeholders of the constructions: The Children.
