About
Ainsley Lewis is Head of Department at the Kamla Raheja Vidyanidhi Institute for Architecture and Environmental Studies (KRVIA), based in Mumbai, India.
KRVIA offers a Bachelor’s in Architecture degree (B.Arch) and two full time Masters courses (M.Arch.) - Masters in Urban Design and Masters in Urban Conservation. All of these courses are run under the aegis of the University of Mumbai.
Ainsley is an Architect from CEPT, Ahmedabad where he was awarded a Gold medal for his work. He has also completed his M.Arch from Kamla Raheja Vidyanidhi Institute for Architecture. He has studied at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH Zurich).
His firm has won several awards including the IAB Young Architects Award for 2000, the AKESI School competition at Vapi, and the Jindal Award for Innovation in the use of Stainless Steel, in 2004. He has been teaching in KRVIA since 1996, and has been Head of Department since 2008.
Ainsley Lewis was a Facilitator of the Mobile Workshop “Land reclamation” at the 4th International Holcim Forum held in Mumbai in 2013.
