Signe Kongebro
Global Director, Future Resilient Design, Ramboll, Denmark
She is a former Partner and Global Design Director at Henning Larsen and now leads Ramboll’s global work on resilient cities across disciplines including architecture, landscape, water, nature, infrastructure, and mobility.
In 2007, she founded Henning Larsen’s sustainability department and remains a leading voice in sustainable construction, pioneering design approaches that reduce climate risk and generate societal value. She has led the design of a wide range of projects such as Fælledby, a large all-timber district in Copenhagen designed to balance city and nature; the Downsview Framework Plan, Toronto’s largest transformational urban development; and Volvo Campus Lundby in Gothenburg, a reimagined industrial campus for more than 16,000 people.
Signe has a strong focus on using data and knowledge to inform design decisions and has developed digital tools that enable early environmental assessment of complex projects. She studied architecture at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and business development at Copenhagen Business School. A frequent speaker and contributor to global discourse on cities and resilience, she also serves on several boards and advisory panels.
