Thure Krarup

Thure Krarup is Head of Global Public Affairs & Policy at Urban Partners, Denmark, and has been a member of the Board of the Holcim Foundation for Sustainable Construction since November 2025.

A senior political and public–private operative, Thure brings extensive experience across government, international organisations, business, and philanthropy. His expertise spans the urban ecosystem, corporate ESG and the green transition, public–private partnerships, and advancing strategic priorities in global contexts.

Thure Krarup, Head of Global Public Affairs and Policy, Urban Partners, Denmark

A political scientist by training, Thure began his career in the Danish Foreign Service, serving as Deputy Ambassador to Syria before moving into the private cabinets of three Danish Foreign Ministers and two Prime Ministers. In these roles, he advised on political priorities, managed communications, and built relationships with key stakeholders.

He later worked in New York with the World Economic Forum, the UN Secretary-General’s Climate Team, and the UN Foundation. At Urban Partners, he leads public affairs, policy, and global stakeholder engagement, and oversees strategic partnerships, communications, and international positioning.

Thure holds a Master’s degree in Political Science from the University of Aarhus.
