    The Holcim Foundation for Sustainable Construction will conduct a Holcim Foundation Fellowship for Europe hosted by ETH Zurich in Brussels, September 1-12, 2025.

The Holcim Foundation and ETH Zurich have extended the submission deadline for the Holcim Foundation Fellowship in Brussels until 26 May 2025 at 08:00hrs CET. This extension allows additional time for emerging professionals to apply to join an immersive program focused on advancing sustainable and regenerative approaches to the built environment.

The in-person intensive two-week course hosted by ETH Zurich and held in Brussels, Belgium seeks to foster a curiosity and solutions-driven mindset through a series of actions — open dialogue, consultation, exploration, and reflection — and to create a dynamic feedback loop that leads to transferable and scalable outcomes.

Holcim Foundation Fellowship

This unique program will provide a platform for students and practitioners to collaboratively explore and challenge existing modes of practice, fostering a curiosity and solutions-driven mindset.

A diverse network of contributors—including &bogdan, Democo Group, noAarchitecten and 51N4E—with additional input from the Architects’ Council of Europe, Construction Products Europe and SHL (Schmidt Hammer Lassen), will guide selected Fellows through a collaborative process of experimentation, reflection, and applied practice grounded in real-world design challenges.

The Fellowship is open to individuals from a wide range of disciplines engaged in shaping the built environment. Fields of eligibility include Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Urban Design, Urban Planning, Historic Preservation, Structural/Civil/Construction Engineering, Construction Management and Real Estate Development.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must be from a recognised university in Europe in one of the eligible fields and either a:

  • current final-year Master's student (expected to complete their studies by October 31, 2025), or
  • recent Master's graduate (graduated no earlier than January 1, 2023).
