Project Summary

Ecological dwelling in a semi-desert zone

While modest in scale, this micro-hotel completed in early 2014 presents an innovative synthesis of bioclimatic knowledge. It responds both rationally and poetically to the harsh conditions of a semi-desert environment and is 100% autonomous in meeting water, energy and waste disposal needs.

The project blends the goals of maintaining Moroccan ways of living, enhanced by technology, while ensuring economic viability. The work suggests broad-range applicability in similar climate zones.
