Project Summary

Energy neutral portable classroom

This cluster of portable classrooms, completed in 2013, uses prefabricated modules assembled with much of the fitout completed in Oregon prior to transportation to Hawaii. The buildings provide an ideal educational environment for students and teachers, while advancing sustainable design principles.

The design is optimized for energy performance and portability, applying light materials such as rigid foam sandwich floor, and natural finished recycled rice straw panels.
