Old grange and east elevation of the main building. Low-tech saves the 18th Century baroque building. The newly-designed architectonic elements are temporary prefabricated constructions supporting the outer walls of the building, lattice girders making the roof, and the structures allowing to live in the object. The elements are created by the local manufacturers using local, natural materials.

Ideas: Housing Needs

Modern Sanctuary is a project for a rehabilitation center in the ruins of a monastery in the town of Otyn in Poland.

The environmentally conscious design delivers tectonic quality and social value. A timber structure encases the existing building in order to protect it from further degradation.
