Heinrich Wolff is a Director of Wolff Architects based in Cape Town, South Africa.

Wolff Architects is a design studio concerned with developing an architectural practice of consequence through the mediums of design, advocacy, research and documentation.

His research focusses on 20 th Century architecture in the Third World, innovation in architecture at times of social change, and housing in South Africa.

He has received the Daimler Chrysler Award for South African Architecture (2007), Lubetkin Award (2005) and was elected as the Designer of the Future by the Wouter Mikmak Foundation (2011).

The work of Wolff Architects has been included at various international exhibitions including the Venice Architecture Biennale, Shenzhen Biennale of Architecture & Urbanism, Louisiana Museum of Modern Art, Chicago Architectural Biennale, São Paulo Biennale and the South American Architecture Biennale.

Heinrich Wolff will be a Visiting Professor at the Harvard University Graduate School of Design (GSD) in Spring 2021 teaching an Option Studio. He has been a Visiting Professor at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH Zurich) (2014-15), Università Iuav di Venezia (2013), Washington University in St Louis, MO, USA (2015) and has been an Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Cape Town (UCT).

He studied architecture at the University of Pretoria and the UCT. He was Director of Noero Wolff Architects with Jo Noero (1998-2012).

He is author of Architecture at a Time of Social Change (TU Delft, 2012), which considers post- apartheid architecture in South Africa and the new role of the architect.

Heinrich Wolff was a member of the LafargeHolcim Awards for region Middle East Africa in 2020.
