Ian Riley is the first Chief Executive Officer of the World Cement Association and was a member of the Holcim Awards jury for region Asia Pacific in 2014.

Ian Riley is the first Chief Executive Officer of the World Cement Association (appointed 2019).

Previously, Ian Riley was the Greater China Country Head for Holcim (2014-2019). He was also Vice President and member of the Executive Committee of Huaxin Cement (华新水泥股份有限公司) as well as Holcim China Country Head (2008-2014).

Before joining Huaxin Cement, Ian Riley was General Manager of a British project management and consulting firm, based in Shanghai and also Chairman of the British Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai.

For most of his career, he worked for ECCI, a British minerals company, which has subsequently become part of Imerys. He has worked in a number of operations and general management roles in the United Kingdom, the USA, Australia and Japan.

Ian Riley holds degrees in mathematics and engineering (operations research) from Cambridge University, United Kingdom.

He was a member of the Holcim Awards jury for region Asia Pacific in 2014.
