Ideas: Ecosystem Restoration, Urban Requalification

This large-scale project aims to save more than 50ha of the Mountain Cloud Forest near the city of Xalapa, Mexico from the urban encroachment pattern of the city.

The project ensures that the physical, ecological and economic capital of the site is enhanced and remains sufficiently robust for further adaptation over time. It illustrates to local residence La Martinica’s importance as a life stream of environmental goods and services, not just a “green” residue in the city.
