Howayda Al-Harithy, Head of the Holcim Awards jury for Africa Middle East and Professor of Architecture, American University of Beirut provided an overview of the jury process and the “target issues” for sustainable construction used as a basis for the evaluation of submissions in the competition.
Bernard Fontana, CEO Holcim Ltd, explained at the media briefing how Holcim wants to use its position as a global industry leader and through the Holcim Awards competition to support sustainability beyond the Group’s plants and distribution chains.

Through the Roman path, the walking tour includes visits to the Phoenician, Roman and Crusader ruins. The sandstone buildings of the historic souks from Ottoman times, with their dark wooden doors and ironwork grilles, and the cobblestone streets are surrounded by outlined historic landscapes and traditional Lebanese houses.
