Hana S. Alamuddin graduated with a Masters degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA in 1987. She completed her architectural degree from Greenwich University, UK in 1985. She lectures in sustainable development and construction at the American University of Beirut.

She is a member of The Royal Institute of British Architects and the Order of Engineers Lebanon and established Almimariya in 1999.

She was a technical reviewer for the Aga Khan Awards for Architecture for three cycles.

Hana S. Alamuddin was a member of the Holcim Awards jury for region Africa Middle East in 2005.
