The International Living Future Institute is a leading NGO that focuses on the transformation to a world that is socially just, culturally rich and ecologically restorative. The Institute offers green building and infrastructure solutions that move across scales (from single room renovations to neighbourhoods or whole cities).
Jason McLennan is the founder and creator of the “Living Building Challenge” green building program. It calls for the creation of building projects at all scales that operate as cleanly, beautifully and efficiently as nature's architecture, and certifies performance over a minimum of 12 months continuous occupancy. The program received the Buckminster Fuller prize in 2012.
He is also CEO of the Cascadia Green Building Council, a chapter of both the United States Green Building Council (USGBC) and the Canada Green Building Council (CGBC).
Jason McLennan studied architecture at the University of Oregon, USA before joining Kanas City, MO, USA, firm BNIM Architects.
He is the author of five books; The Philosophy of Sustainable Design, The Dumb Architect’s Guide to Glazing Selection, The Ecological Engineer, Zugunruhe and Transformational Thought.
