Marvin Henry presented the roles of start-ups in scaling circular innovation at the Holcim Foundation Sounding Board Rotterdam. His talk included examples from his recently completed Doctoral dissertation on the role of start-ups for circularity and design at Utrecht University.

Role of start-ups in scaling circular innovation

At the Sounding Board Rotterdam, Marvin Henry, Senior Manager Avoided Emissions at the WBCSD and former doctoral researcher at Utrecht University presented an analysis of the systemic role of startups for circular innovation.

Marvin Henry was previously Senior Manager Avoided Emissions at the WBCSD. He had previously worked as Head of Sustainability at London-based fintech & circular economy company Twig and as a project manager in the German and Dutch offices of strategy consultancy McKinsey & Co. where he focused on sustainable and digital transformation projects.

The transition to Net Zero is entering a new phase, which will focus on how companies can be held accountable for their emission reduction targets and how all institutions can work together to define the most efficient ways to achieve our global Net Zero goal. To successfully achieve this, companies, regulators, and financial actors must have access to tools that adequately reflect how impactful their decisions are in limiting the global temperature rise.
