Annika Feige was previously Research Assistant to the Chair of Sustainable Construction at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH Zurich), Switzerland where she completed her PhD dissertation on “The Financial Effect of Sustainability”. She also holds a degree in civil engineering and studied Management for Real Estate, Construction and Infrastructure at the Bauhaus University, Weimar, Germany. During her studies she spent time at Stanford University, USA and at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.
Annika Feige was previously engaged on a project of Holcim Group Support in Singapore which aimed to increase process sustainability and lower CO2 emissions in ready mix concrete production.
Her research at ETH Zurich included Sustainability and property investment: challenges and solutions for property portfolios (2010/11) and Sustainable quality of buildings: the impact of sustainable office buildings on comfort, wellbeing and productivity of users (2012). The research was conducted jointly by the Institute for Facility Management, School of Life Sciences and Facility Management at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW) and the Chair for Sustainable Construction at the ETH Zurich. It investigates real estate portfolios of institutional investors in Switzerland to determine in what ay property value is affected by sustainable design, and how this factor may be involved in the sustainability appraisal process.
