Claude Fussler is an expert on business innovation and issue management, was a member of the Board from the inception of the Management Board of the Holcim Foundation in 2003 until 2009, and a member of the Global Awards jury in 2006.

Claude Fussler advises the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) and authored Changing Pace: Public policy options to scale and accelerate business action towards Vision 2050 (WBCSD, 2010), a policy framework published for the Rio+20 Summit preparations.
He was a Special Advisor of the UN Global Compact after directing its Caring for Climate (C4C) program until 2009, a voluntary and complementary action platform for UN Global Compact participants that seek to demonstrate leadership on climate change. He advises the executives of large corporations on sustainability strategies and is author of Raising the Bar: Creating Value with the UN Global Compact (Greenleaf, 2004), a guide to implementing a corporate citizenship strategy.
He is also a member of the Advisory Board of Demeter2, a major European investment fund in clean technologies; chairs the Sustainability Panel of the EDF Group, a global electricity producer; and is a member of the Sustainability Advisory Board of the Kimberley-Clark Corporation.
He worked for The Dow Chemical Company for over 30 years on a number of international business assignments until 2001. He has contributed to numerous strategic dialogs between high-level stakeholders and corporations including Kimberley-Clark, Holcim, Alcatel-Lucent, British Telecom, the French Pharma producers and Eurometaux.
He studied chemical engineering at École supérieure de chimie physique électronique de Lyon (CPE Lyon), France, where he founded the bi-annual Forum on Large-Volume CO2 chemical revalorization that gathers scientists, investors, entrepreneurs and policy makers concerned with innovative pathways to conserve CO2 in the economy.
Claude Fussler received the Cleantech Pioneer Award in 2006 for his work and experience in business processes for eco-efficiency and innovation. He is author of Driving Eco-Innovation: A Breakthrough Discipline for Innovation and Sustainability (Financial Times/Prentice Hall, 1997). He produced Walking the Talk: The Business Case for Sustainable Development (Berrett-Koehler, 2002), in which prominent business executives demonstrate the opportunities and responsibilities in globalization.
