Mohsen Ech is Research & Development Program Manager for Mining & Roads and Business Development at the Holcim Innovation Centre near Lyon, France.

He studied Civil Engineering at the Lebanese University in Tripoli (2003), before completing a Master of Research degree in Mechanics and Engineering (2004) and a PhD in Mechanics from Bordeaux I University (2007).

During this time, he spent more than three years at the Research Centre of Eurovia (Vinci) where he worked on the development of an innovative method for an improved evaluation of the durability of pavement surface.

Mohsen Ech joined the Holcim Innovation Centre in 2008 in charge of the development of innovative and sustainable road solutions. He worked as project manager in charge of several projects in the area of recycling, energy saving and sustainability in roads construction (2011-14). Since 2014, he has been leading the R&D program on Infrastructure Solutions, working on innovation in the field, including roads, transport, energy and mining.

He is the author and co-author of 20 papers published in academic and trade journals as well as conference proceedings in the field of construction materials and an inventor with four filed patents in his credit.

Mohsen Ech was a member of the Holcim Awards jury for Middle East Africa in 2017 and 2020.

He participated in the first Roundtable to prepare the topics of the Holcim Forum for Sustainable Construction in 2020.
