USD 220,000 in prize money was awarded to the best entries in the Holcim Awards competition for sustainable construction projects from Latin America. The top prizes went to projects from Argentina, Brazil and Venezuela in a competition that aims to promote sustainable approaches to the built environment. The competition was created by the Swiss-based Holcim Foundation for Sustainable Construction in collaboration with five of the world’s leading technical universities including the University of São Paulo, Brazil.

Proposed law integrated residential complex that takes into consideration a comprehensive set of measures – i.e., those concerning water, wastes, wind, energy, CO2 emission – to improve the environmental performance of the project, measures that are fully adequate for the agenda of regional sustainability.

A comprehensive set of measures pertaining for sustainable construction is considered in this high-rise building located in Brazil. Careful attention is given, for example, to water conservation, waste reduction, as well as to lowering CO2 emissions, while equal efforts are made to utilize natural resources such as solar and wind energy.
